Hotel Verde has become the first hotel to be rated with Green Building Council South Africa’s Existing Buildings Performance rating tool during its pilot phase, and achieved no less than the most prestigeous 6 stars (82 points) meaning that this project is recognised for world leadership in sustainable development. The rating will be valid for 3 years to ensure that the building is continually operated through stringent efficiency and with optimistic sustainable targets. Hotel Verde is the first hotel in the country to be rated under the GBCSA’s rating tools, making further history in green building in South Africa.
